JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Project Management (DOPM) guides and manages the overall project workflow, policies, and programs for the organization. The DOPM supplies direction to both account managers and project managers and acts as the communication bridge from sales to operations to drive profitable growth for the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads Work in Process (WIP) meetings for each Project Manager (PM) within your team.
- Validates work scope vs. contract documents via a hand-off meeting process.
- Collaborates with Contract Administration to execute contracts in a timely manner.
- Ensure all PMs are following outlined and current business processes.
- Mentors and coaches PMs in improving speed and quality of projects delivered.
- Manage the team as it relates to performance, compensation, development, and work capacity.
- Work with heads of internal departments to create a more united organization.
- Analyze and problem solve to maintain gross profit expectations for all projects under his/her control.
- Fosters team work between sales and operations to achieve both sales and gross profit objectives.
- Culture advocate for the company. Creating a beneficial liaison between executive management and PMs.
- Leadership in business process and presence with the team.
- Professional communication and presentation to executive management on project status.
- Provide strategy recommendations for various large bids.
- Develop and train a superior Project Management team with the highest standards in the industry.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the commercial flooring industry
- 3-5 years of project management experience in complex projects
- 2-3 years’ experience managing and leading teams
- Demonstrated experience in cost containment and contingency planning
- Intermediate knowledge level of MS Excel
- High School Degree or GED Required
- Construction management degree a plus
- PMP certification
- Lean certifications
- Six Sigma certifications
