PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is primarily responsible for theelectrical mechanical and environmental testing and evaluation ofnew and existing Electromechanical medical devices.
Will berequired to handle test stands setup perform and monitor testingactivities.
PRINCIPALACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Testingproducts in the Reliability Test Lab to test requirements specifiedby Product and Reliability Engineering.
2.Taking direction from the Reliability Test Manager Lab Supervisorand Test Engineers on safe working procedures use of equipmentrecording of test data and monitoring of results.
3. Performing all tests as directed by the ReliabilityTest Manager Lab Supervisor and Test Engineers. Providing accurateand timely documented results.
Communicating test results toappropriate engineering personnel.
4.Performing teardown destructive testing or test to failureactivities as part of the product development process.
5. Verifying and validating proposed and / or implementedchanges to existing products. Performing specified tests ofcompetitive products as part of the new product developmentprocess.
6. Participating with productfailure analysis collaboratively with project engineers includingthe suggestion of product design improvements based on observationand test results.
7. Setting up a variety ofelectrical mechanical and / or electronic equipment to includeenvironmental chambers Life Test equipment Product Specific testequipment Mechanical gauges and Electrical / Electronicmeters.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Technicalknowledge must be based on at least 6 years of testing lab orrelated experience
2. Understanding ofelectromechanical systems and ability to recognize mechanicalelectrical or system abnormalities
3.Handson instrumentation and data acquisition experience.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook andhave verbal writing and organizational skills to maintain allrecords and provide data to project engineers managers and supportproblem resolution
5. Background withmeasurement test equipment
6. Workingknowledge of pneumatics
7. Ability to readand interpret engineering drawings and schematics
8. Working knowledge of mechanical gauging andinstruments to include micrometers calipers force gages dialindicators and hardness testers is necessary
9. Experience testing to verify compliance with environmentalrequirements (shock vibration thermal humidity electromagneticetc.) is a plus
10. Knowledge of PLC LadderLogic and Microcontrollers is a plus
11.Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent AA Degree is stronglypreferred
- 12 yrs of mechanical or electricalexperience is strongly preferred or engineering grads with someintern experience
- Basic computerskills
