Minimum Requirements for entry-level Associate Architects
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Architecture program
- United States Citizenship Required
- Basic interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Revit/BIM
- Strong knowledge of MS Office
- Reports Daily to Williamsburg, VA
What You will Do - This is an entry-level position ideal for recent graduates or new members of the work force. The Associate Architect is task-focused and works under the supervision of others to support on-time and on-budget project deliverables. You should be working through registration for the NCARB Intern Development Program (IDP) and should be preparing to test for your Architectural Registration Exam (ARE).
The ability to proactively use available resources such as books, industry publications, experienced colleagues, and review of past projects is essential to success in this position.
DJG Professional Pathways
Associate (No Experience / Entry-Level, recent Graduate)
Staff (Some Experience, Typically 2-7 years)
Project (Mid-Level, typically 4-5 years)
Senior (Senior-Level, typically 5-10 years)
Typical Duties
- Daily check-ins with Group Leader
- Drafting plans in AutoCAD and Revit (3D Modeling/BIM)
- Editing construction specifications
- Preparing cost estimates
- Coordinating the flow of project deliverables through DJG’s quality control process
- Coordinating with various entities to obtain project-specific information
- Assisting with site surveys and field investigations
- Printing and various administrative duties
- Studying applicable building and zoning codes
