What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator - New Apartment Construction position at DK Painting Company, Inc.?
DK Painting is seeking an Estimator to join the team. The Estimator will assist the Estimating staff and operations team with all aspects of estimating, including quantity take-off, pricing and bidding of new residential construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Complete understanding of the requirements of the project/builder at hand
- Read, review, and evaluate architectural & landscape plans to develop project scope of work which then drives the estimating process.
- Prepare estimates conceptually utilizing general ideas and plans established by owner
- Responsible for the development of detailed take-offs and creation of necessary scope of work documents necessary for the full and comprehensive project details and requirements
- Validates that accurate and detailed information was provided to the operations team to plan for execution
- Perform risk analysis
- Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate parties
- Interface by phone and emails with general contractor/client to clarify scope of work.
Skills
- Proven experience as construction estimator
- Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts
- Deep understanding of bidding software, data analysis and estimation metrics
- Comfortable with numbers and technology
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Well-organized and reliable
- Keep all files updated for projects
- Works well with a team
- Construction estimating: 1 year (Preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
