Job Title: Electrical Technician (Thermal and Combustion)

Our company, a Fortune 500 company and a leading provider of aluminum sheets, plate and extrusions, is seeking an Electrical Technician (Thermal and Combustion) to provide electrical technical services to the Ingot Department to safely meet the company's business plan by providing support to production, maintenance, and engineering. The position is based in our Davenport IA plant.

Responsibilities:

- Create and develop electrical control solutions to support process improvements and improve equipment reliability

- Use PI Vision and Data Link to analyze process issues and provide input to solve problems

- Redesign and upgrade existing processes that include PLC/HMI and controls

- Assist production and maintenance with equipment and process issues

- Participate in technical assessments of equipment

- Support and maintain a safe workplace by actively involving in the safety processes and leading by example by supporting the company's EHS policies and values

- Provide technical & tactical support and leadership on planned and unplanned equipment breakdowns and outages on production centers

- Train and mentor Unit Supervisors and craftspeople, enabling continuous technical skills improvement throughout the organization

- Develop and execute training plans

- Lead the effort in the development of SOP's, WIP's and related procedures on new and existing equipment; provide training on the procedures

- Provide technical input to preventative and predictive maintenance systems

- Ensure long term viability of existing equipment by recommending and implementing changes and improvements to control systems or equipment to increase equipment reliability

- Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis efforts, providing documentation and record retention on technical-related issues

- Assist in critical spare parts management

- Apply the company's Business Systems concepts and Stability Tools into your daily activities, ensuring that critical maintenance processes are integrated into day-to-day operations

Requirements:

- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution

- Minimum of six (6) years electrical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

- 3 years' experience with PLC machinery

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Strong ability to read electrical drawings, troubleshoot to root cause, and implement repairs to restore flow of equipment

- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

- Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

- Flexible with hours, as hours for this role will be dependent on business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

- Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship, four years on the job training or electrical degree from an accredited technical college or institution

- Broad electrical experience, preferably with knowledge of non-destructive testing systems

- Experience applying knowledge on servo systems, stepper drives, PLC programming and troubleshooting, ac & dc motors, and variable speed drives

- Process control and instrumentation principles

- 3 years' experience with HMI's, AC/DC drives & motors and measuring instruments

- Proficiency with Rockwell programming software (i.e.: RS Logix and FactoryView)

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Project programs
