What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian (PT) position at DLP Services?
DLP SERVICES is currently accepting applications for the position of:
- POSITION TITLE: Custodian.
- FLSA: Non-Exempt.
- Classification: Part-time.
JOB SUMMARY: Maintains the cleanliness of federal facilities to meet client satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to perform major janitorial cleaning tasks such as vacuuming (using a 25lb. vacuum daily for 3-4 hours), wet mopping, sweeping, dusting, and emptying the trash (lifting wastepaper and debris-minimum of 55lbs.)
- Cleans and disinfects drinking fountains, and restrooms, including floors and all fixtures (i.e.: Urinals, Toilets, Sinks, Mirrors, Partitions, and Counters).
- Fills dispensers and stocking supplies in restrooms. Wash Windows and Sill (Door Glass).
- Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends as necessary to meet events and facility schedules.
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs frequently, as well as regular bending and standing as needed in a daily shift.
- Performs other related duties as required.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
- Receives supervision from the Lead Supervisor.
- The position has no formal assigned supervisory responsibility or authority.
- Must complete jobs without constant supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor and/or outdoor environment. Works standing and walking for prolonged periods of time while cleaning and/or sanitizing the work area.
- Steps, stoops, crawls, climbs, lifts, bends, kneels, pulls, and pushes while performing job duties such as heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 55 pounds.
- Physical work is a primary part of the job.
- The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, cleaning chemicals, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:
- This position is subject to the DLP Staffing, Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must pass a background check.
- REQUIREMENT - Individual recommended for the position must pay a $12 badge fee as part of the application process to be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective interpersonal/communication skills.
- Ability to understand written and verbal communications.
- Ability to understand verbal instructions.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Effective grooming skills.
- Able to operate electronic devices for clocking in/out procedures. Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to lift, push/pull, and manipulate heavy objects up to 55 pounds.
Other: Valid Drivers’ License Class C.
