Position Summary:
This is an entry level Design Technology Manager (DTM) position where you will work with the whole Design Technology Team. The DTM will oversee the successful implementation of BIM best practices, by serving as a resource to our professional staff during all phases of our projects. Monitor the progress of BIM/Design Technology workflows between project teams, our clients, our consultants, and contractors. The top priority of the Design Technology Manager is to ensure that our project teams are operating at maximum efficiency, as this relates to the utilization of BIM.
Key Performance Measures
1. Provides BIM support and model management.
2. Educate staff on BIM best practices and tools.
3. Ensure implementation of BIM standards & delivery.
4. Assist project teams with the creation of and adherence to their BIM execution plans.
As a DLR Group Design Technology Manager, you will be responsible for working and learning in a dynamic technology team to support our multidisciplinary design team to help produce designs for commercial, educational, and municipal buildings of all sizes and complexities. You will report to one of the design discipline focused Design Technology Managers and work with the Time Zone-based support team to implement BIM and support Design Technology usage on projects across DLR Group's global portfolio.
The successful candidate will:
- Perform periodic quality assurance reviews of Revit models and report back to design teams performance issues and assist with resolving them.
- Assist in BIM Execution planning meetings and setup of projects through our project startup portal
- Provide feedback to Design Technology Managers to improve BIM best practices and efficiencies
- Assist with setting up Navisworks for Clash detection reviews for projects
- Develop Revit content and implement standards changes into active Revit Project Files
- Assist with the management of BIM 360 project sites
- Learn / remain current on all Design Technology related software and add-ons in standard production use at DLR Group, and relay updates and trainings to team members
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with Revit
- Ability to learn new software
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Understanding of the Architecture, Interiors, and Engineering design process.
- Must be will to work in a hybrid work environment - this role will not be 100% remote.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Dynamo, Grasshopper or a programming language
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Educational background in Architecture, Interior Design, or Engineering
