Position Summary
As an Interior Designer at DLR Group you will be responsible for collaborating and leading all aspect of the design process aligned with client goals, budgets and schedule parameters. This candidate will excel as a strong communicator with passion for solving both design and business challenges. You will be responsible for collaborating with team members and design directors as well as leading the design of interior architectural projects from schematic design through construction administration and function as team designer on projects ranging in size and complexity. You will develop space plans, three dimensional concepts, visual presentations, materials palettes, and assistance with aspects of construction documentation. This role requires an integrated mindset working collaboratively with clients, contractors, vendors and other DLR Group team members.
The successful candidate will
- Have the ability to work both independently and effectively in a cross-disciplinary team atmosphere and across multiple offices.
- Have strong creative design and drawing skills, graphic and oral design presentation skills, strong space planning and three-dimensional conceptual design thinking, experience in the aesthetic and functional aspects of materials and furnishings selection and specification, and 3D design/modeling ability.
- Have strong client communication and time management skills.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Have solid understanding of industry standards, construction methods, and technical systems at large.
- Have knowledge of the construction administration process.
Required Qualifications
- Eight or more years of experience as an Interior Designer.
- Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture or equivalent.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling.
- The ability to travel occasionally to support project tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- AIA, CID, NCIDQ or equivalent accreditation a plus.
- Proficient in the use of Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience with commercial projects, specifically workplace.
