The Matrix Sciences Quality Assurance department tasks and completes projects to monitor quality control and improve quality systems while assuring continued adherence of the quality management systems, quality policies and procedures along with other regulatory requirements.

Role summary:
The Quality Assurance Specialist provides support to operations and completes tasks as assigned to monitor and improve processes and the overall Quality Management System relating to routine microbiological and analytical chemistry testing.
What you’ll do:

- Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and relevant ISO/IEC 17025, 17043 and related standards.
- Assists operations with implementation of Matrix policies and procedures (integration) for all sites.
- Assumes full responsibility and control of the Quality Manual and related quality procedures of legacy quality systems.
- Monitors compliance to ISO standards, Matrix quality system, and legacy systems during integration.
- Conducts internal audits across all sites and communicates findings to operations for resolution.
- Coordinates and conducts QMS training for new hires.
- Issues corrective action reports as requested.
- Monitors progress of investigations and corrective actions to ensure timely completion and verify to ensure absence of recurrence.
- Verifies that suppliers meet quality standards prior to approval and maintains approved supplier list.
- Participates in external audits and assist operations with external audit preparation, as requested.
- Responds to external audit findings and assist the laboratory with resolutions.
- Ensures quality requirements are met relative to change or special client requests.
- Ensures laboratory completes proficiencies, at minimum, as outlined in the 4-year proficiency plan submitted to the accreditation body.
- Reviews proficiency reports for trends, failures, or other questionable results and reports findings to operations for resolution.
- Assists with client communication relative to quality inquiries or issues.
- Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of document control system, Qualtrax, for all Matrix routine testing sites.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field and minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team.
- Positive outlook with the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
