Job Summary 

DME Forensics is looking for a quality assurance engineer willing to join our small, close-knit team. You will chiefly be working on our flagship product, DVR Examiner, which has been built mostly from .NET technologies over the last seven years.


In this role, you will be expected to have a solid grasp of testing methodologies and practices, to be able to follow test procedures and to write test plans. You will be expected to work with source code, build projects locally, evaluate Unit Test logic, and be able to read the code you are testing. You will be expected to work within the QA unit and together with development teams in order to improve test coverage using automated as well as manual tests.

A good candidate should be able to locate edge cases, have attention to detail and should be able to prioritize where testing needs are greatest. The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter who is comfortable working on a small team where your input matters. While not required, software engineering experience is a big plus.


Salary range ($60,000 to $120,000) reflects Junior to Senior positions. The position and salary offered will depend on your experience.

Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Review application source code, implement automated tests (unit tests, integration tests, etc.) and help build innovative testing tools.
  • Perform quality evaluations of completed work items to ensure proper quality is being achieved by the work. Asks questions when details are unclear – does not try to sweep questions under the rug.
  • Identify new test case requirements introduced by work and ensure any new test cases are written.
  • Participate in release build test efforts to help evaluate the final quality of release candidates.
  • Participate in scrum team ceremonies (refinement, planning, etc.) and help ensure appropriate considerations for quality are planned.
  • Champion quality standards in all teamwork activities helping to ensure company is achieving quality standards from the ground up.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, and one to two years of related experience or four to six years of related experience.
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Windows; Project/Workflow Management software (Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.); Git; Microsoft Office
  • Experience with writing & executing Test Cases, performing Exploratory Testing, working with User Stories, writing & reading Bugs
