About the Opportunity
DMI, LLC is seeking a IT and DATA GOVERNANCE SME/Task Lead
Duties and Responsibilities:
Organize and lead Investment Review (IR) and Data Governance Board meetings. Facilitate IR and Data Governance Working Group and Focus Group meetings, maintaining supporting metrics.
Act as a liaison with IT and Data Governance Investment Review and Architectural Review Team (IRT and ART). Coordinate with IT stakeholders to ensure compliance with governance processes.
Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of data governance policies, practices, and support functions to meet public health goals for data sharing and access.
Develop and maintain a data governance model, including policies, roles, and structures for data owners, data stewards, and system support staff. Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate and revise policies and practices to achieve data governance objectives.
Stay informed about external trends and best practices in data governance, recommending changes as needed to data owners and leadership.
Support data quality efforts, including the definition of business rules and resolution of quality issues impacting critical data elements. Monitor IT project compliance with governance frameworks and stage gate reviews.
Collaborate with project managers and Division IT Points of Contact (POC) to streamline processes, escalate risks, and provide guidance. Support project cost and schedule variance reporting.
Assist in capturing future needs and budget inputs for IT Data Governance annual budget calls. Develop processes for allocating budgets for common platforms or shared services, producing job aids or SOPs for cost allocation methodologies.
Update Project Manager Resource Center and Governance SharePoint Site content. Implement enhancements like advanced search capability and improved dashboards for project managers and leadership.
Develop, manage, and update project and portfolio management tools, templates, and standards. Facilitate Annual Operational Analyses and coordinate with Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO).
Conduct periodic training sessions for new Project Managers and Critical Partners on governance processes. Facilitate cost savings and avoidance reporting, create Monthly Stage Gate Summary Reports, and coordinate the annual Investment Selection Process.
Qualifications
Education and Years of Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT governance and data governance roles.
Required and Desired Skills/Certifications:
- Strong understanding of public health data governance frameworks and IT compliance.
- Experience in coordinating large-scale data governance processes and IT project management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is a plus.
