About the Opportunity

Digital Management, LLC (DMI) is seeking a full-time Sr. Project Manager support an Operations & Maintenance and Enhancements project to support a transit (Rail, Bus, Paratransit...) customer on a high visibility program in the Washington, CD area (or remote in US)

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day responsibility of managing IT projects; manage tasks, overall deliverables, and status tracking
  • Work closely with the Program Manager and serves as Primary POC for the customer and COTR for their project, which includes providing O&M support and enhancements for numerous systems using Agile Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall methodologies
  • Support the Program Manager by providing weekly status reports and monthly performance reports for their project
  • Provide suggestions for process improvements, risk management, resource and budget planning for the entire program.
  • Implement standardized processes and procedures, including supporting the transition to Agile, DevSecOps, standard tools for project management and work items tracking, etc.
  • Oversee numerous systems of varying complexity, including custom software, SharePoint applications, mobile apps, web applications, COTS integration, customization, and upgrades, etc. 
  • Responsible for developing work plans, reports, quality checks, risk management, and continuous improvements for their project
  • Manage a team of 10 to 20 members consisting of analysts, developers, testers, system and solution architects, and COTS product SMEs
  • Responsible for project financials, employee review, customer relationships, quality management, staffing and team building
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional services to the customer
  • Assist in developing management plans, procedures, and methodology
  • Communicate with other stakeholder organizations to assist in needs assessment, scope definition, risk assessment, and process improvement analyses
  • Confer with project members to outline work plans and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scopes of authority
  • Hold regular project meetings with stakeholders to monitor progress and communicate actions required
  • Proactively solve problems to ensure milestones are met and projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Conduct and evaluate post-mortems to improve future projects
  • Manage project issues, revise plans as necessary, and communicate changes to project team members
  • Confer with project team members to provide technical advice and resolve problems

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or in a related discipline
  • Five to ten years of experience of progressive experience in IT projects, with at least 3 years as a Team Lead or Project Manager experience performing the duties identified above in an IT project
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus

 

 

Required Skills:

  • Experience with application development projects following Agile methodologies
  • In depth understanding of project management principles, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, customer relations, project execution, team management, and status reporting
  • Experience managing Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) and Labor-Hour (LH) contracts
  • Expert level proficiency in ticketing systems such as Jira, IBM Jazz, etc., MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), project scheduling tools such as Primavera Scheduler, MS Project, etc., Diagramming tools such as MS Visio
  • Experience with Transit systems a plus
