Truss Designer

DMS Building Components is looking for a motivated individual with previous experience as a Truss Designer for residential and light commercial projects to join our team. Previous Mitek 20/20 and Mitek Management software experience required.

Competencies:

Summarized below are the competencies necessary for a candidate to be considered for the position of Truss Designer:

• Create cost effective and accurate layouts and truss designs from architectural and structural drawings using all associated details and building codes.
• Provide technical expertise, support, and knowledge to the team and field staff when necessary.
• Review and analyze specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings, and any related components which influence the design of trusses.
• Generate cut sheets, layout sheets and truss engineering for production.
• Experienced in Floor and Roof Truss design.
• Other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

Summarized below are the minimum qualifications required for a candidate to be considered for the position of Truss Designer:

• Previous Mitek 20/20 and Mitek Management software experience required.
• CAD & Construction knowledge required.
• Strong customer service, verbal and written skills.
• Understands code requirements and loading conditions.
• Understands field requirements and constructability of manufactured components.
• Knowledge of wood framing, hold downs, and structural components typical in wood framed buildings.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.
• Attention to detail is a must.
• Strong visualization and math skills
• Substantial communication dexterity between customers and colleagues.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
