You will be working as part of the Design and Innovation team responsible for developing solutions for customers, working alongside the project team and the client to develop functional specifications and kit lists.
Experience and a comprehensive working knowledge of AV Systems and Video Conferencing technologies is essential for this role, which will involve enterprise level solution design for large scale new build/ refurbishment projects.
You will provide technical advice and assistance to a non-technical project delivery team. Industry or manufacturer certifications such as CTS-D would be an advantage.
Installation / Commissioning or Project management experience would be advantageous.

The AV Design Engineer’s main function will be to provide technical support by acting as a consultant to the Programme Management Team, generating functional system descriptions, block flow diagrams and equipment lists to enable generation of customer proposals. This role is also leveraged by the Global Implementation Team for project engineering and ongoing project consultation.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to translate customer requirements into functional system designs.
- Attend internal design meetings.
- Liaise with architect, contractor and client design teams.
- Review pre-construction design and documentation.
- Provide assistance with technical design and level of effort needed by estimating hours and highlighting logistical challenges for the project team to consider while delivering the program.
- Generate functional system descriptions and block diagram, including: Floor Plans, Schematics and Elevations
- Create working drawings and designs for the manufacture of bespoke items.
- Create as-built drawings and O M manuals.
- Assist with the production of specification sheets.
- Identify all cabling and miscellaneous material needs.
- Assist the Project Manager with labour and material estimates for projects.
- Develop engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings, calculation, acoustical modelling or other data as required.
- Provide ongoing engineering support as needed.
- Meet with vendors/prospective vendors to help evaluate product as requested.
Skills Required
- Comprehensive working knowledge of current AV systems, associated IT elements and their installations (including AMX, Crestron, Extron, audio DSP, video conferencing, video streaming, digital signage, etc).
- Industry or manufacturer certifications, such as CTS-D, advantageous.
- Installation/commissioning, or Project management experience, advantageous.
- AV Design qualifications are required.
- Wide-ranging technical knowledge – Video, Networking, Audio, Power, Ventilation.
- Outstanding skills and experience with the following: AutoCAD, VectorWorks, MS Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent communication skills.
