Description
DNC Hydraulics LLC is seeking a Safety Compliance Specialist to support our repair facility. The primary responsibilities of the Safety Compliance Specialist will be project work to support the safety policies/procedures of the facility. This position is also centered on the ongoing development of the other safety and general training needs.
Support the required safety standards to ensure the health, safety and security of employees.
Create a culture of injury-free attitudes within the plant team by demonstrating honest, genuine care and passion for safety.
Conduct plant workplace inspections and audits to identify work hazards and exposure and follow through with corrective actions and write work orders where appropriate.
Develop and conduct safety training for the workforce as needed.
Lead employee safety meetings.
Complete safety projects as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Lead in the development of Plant Safety Rules.
Monitor, record, and publish the plant safety statistics.
Continuously improve and add to the training process.
Ensure that all occupational guidelines and regulations are being adhered to.
Manage the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) Database.
Requirements
Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel
Be dependable and show up on time with an excellent attendance record
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Physical ability to safely lift objects as heavy as 40 lbs. and stand/walk for more than 7 hours
Decision-making skills and the ability to work independently, using independent judgment.
Proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Skill in performing safety inspections ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards.
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols.
Skill in performing safety inspections and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards.
Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Skill in developing safety procedures and protocols.
Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
