Overview
Unami is seeking to hire a Superintendent/Quality Control Manager.
The Superintendent/QCM coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete projects on schedule, within budget and is responsible for the overall quality of work on the project. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities. Maintains the job site office and assists the Management team complete project close out. The Superintendent will meet with the Project Manager as soon as the project is awarded to review and plan for subcontracts, materials and their delivery, safety plans, labor and equipment requirements, the project budget and other outstanding issues. You will conduct preliminary jobsite visits as necessary for in preparation for the project startup. Should the project be a Design/Build, you will be expected to participate in design document review and design meetings pertaining to the project(s). You will meet regularly with your manager to review the progress of ongoing jobs and to discuss issues that require input outside of you’re a Superintendent’s authority. You will be responsible for providing guidance to all workers in safety procedures and company policies.
Responsibilities
Oversee, manage, and direct all aspects of the field operations of the project from beginning to end. Complete project on schedule, within the budget, and with highest quality of workmanship.
Effectively manage and execute assigned projects to include effective communication with superintendents, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects meet designated quality timelines and budgets.
Oversee, manage, and direct the safety aspect of the field operations of the project from beginning to end.
The Superintendent will be required to act in a “dual hat”, (Superintendent/QCM), role for the project(s).
Developing, scheduling and implementing procedures for tracking control phase meetings for definable features of work in the QC Plan.
Notifying appropriate personnel of time, date and agenda.
Conducting Meetings (preparatory and initial).
Considering safety and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
Documenting actual discussions and providing minutes to attendees.
Government staffing requirements.
Functions of each QA team member.
The Superintendent is expected to keep current on construction practices and maintain valid certifications.
Core Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
- Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
- Maintains construction schedule, identifies, and solves problems.
- Coordinates material orders/deliveries with the Management team and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
- Has a thorough understanding of the project Request for Proposal, plans, specifications, and Scopes of Work.
- Maintains positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other employees.
- Prepares “Look Ahead” schedules, develops and supervises completion of the preliminary and final punch list.
- Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices, and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
- Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
- Maintains a clean, organized job site, including the construction office.
- Meeting with subcontractors to ensure satisfactory job progress.
- Ensuring all reports and records are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Forwarding reports to the appropriate company personnel.
- Supervising, ordering, and coordinating activities of labor, subcontractors and deliveries.
- Analyzing worker and production problems.
- Improving production methods or implementing motivational plans for review with the Management team.
- Conferring with managers and technical associates to coordinate activities.
- Conducting and participating in safety meetings.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- 4-yr college degree preferred but not required. Desirable study concentration in construction management.
- Experienced in managing multiple projects.
- Experienced in reading and comprehension of design documents including design drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Previous management experience, a plus
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and safety law.
- Strong knowledge of quality control regulations, and safety regulations.
- Computer literacy, excellent communications with other employees, subs, clients.
- Certifications in OSHA 30, Construction Quality Control Management (CQM), First Aid and CPR
- Knowledge of quality control regulations in construction.
- Ability to maintain records, prepare reports, and conduct correspondence related to work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
