This position is responsible for Do Good Foods’ environmental compliance and management of environmental operations. Effectively and efficiently measures and manages environmental indicators to ensure that the Company’s standards are maintained and expanded. Using knowledge of various scientific disciplines, this role collects, synthesizes, studies, reports, and recommends action based on data derived from measurements or observations of water, air noise, waste, and other sources. The role will be responsible for environmental compliance, process and policies at our Fairless Hills, PA facility.

· Leads the development, coordination and implementation of all activities associated with environmental policies and programs at our Fairless Hills facility.

· Develops environmental operational policies pertaining to all company operations.

· Manages, monitors, and reports Fairless Hills’ waste management programs including all solid waste, hazardous waste, recycling practices, and facility specific Waste Management Plans.

· Conducts due diligence audits and inspections of waste handling vendors.

· Manages and oversees Fairless Hills’ wastewater and emission program including regulatory documentation, sampling and reporting, appropriate corrective action, and training.

· Oversees the facility’s chemical management program including approved chemical use, chemical inventory management and appropriate documentation.

· Identifies opportunities to further implement sustainability into Do Good Foods’ existing practices.

· Oversees, coordinates, and manages Fairless Hills’ compliance requirements and certification(s) including action plans, objectives and targets, internal and external audits, corrective action management and executive reporting.

· Supports collaborations with other functions at Fairless Hills departments as an action-oriented resource to support environmental and sustainability initiatives.

· Develops and implements environmental communications, awareness, and training activities for the facility.

· Coordinates projects/activities with local communities.

· Develops and maintains environmental training programs.

· Implements environmental/sustainability data collection and reporting initiatives at the facility.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering or Sustainable Management.

· A minimum of 2 years of environmental management experience preferred.

Language Ability:

Reads, analyzes, and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and government regulations. Writes reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and vendors.

Mathematical Ability:

Works with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Develops mathematical or statistical models to analyze data. Interprets data and report conclusions from analyses. Uses data analysis to support and improve business decisions.

Reasoning Ability:

Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions. Interprets an extensive variety of technical instructions and deals with several abstract and concrete variables and condenses into understandable and executable guidance and operating procedures.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software – especially Microsoft Excel and Word.

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer and standing.

· Must be able to lift 20-25 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
