Description
This position is responsible for ordering and receiving replacement parts, equipment, supplies, and expendable items used in selling, repair and maintenance of office product equipment. Specifically, the Purchaser is responsible for inventory record maintenance relative to ensuring proper stocking levels and re-ordering central inventory as necessary to maintain a high degree fill-rate for selling equipment orders and purchasing central inventory levels. This position maintains high integrity relative to Vendor Relations and negotiates best-pricing scenarios on part-purchasing and line-item warranty. Responsible for inventory and inventory accuracy of parts, supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records. This position is also responsible for the timely procurement of parts needed for open part-calls and for the timely updating of part-call status. Works cohesively with dispatcher to help verify availability of parts and equipment to ensure scheduled work performance is done timely and accurately specifically when it pertains to creating and updating equipment records.
Responsibilities
- Manage the utilization of assets and resources to achieve targeted financial results and create superior value for DOCUmation and our customers
- Communicate and interact with vendors, customers, field service, sales, management, and administration in a way that is courteous, positive, and professional
- Responsible for vendor relations as it pertains to best pricing scenarios, warranty, and rebate incentives
- Order, receive, stock and issue parts in accordance with open-call turn-around objectives
- Forecasting equipment, parts and supplies demand based on suggested inventory usage patterns
- Shops best pricing scenarios using multiple vendors, aftermarket vendors and wholesalers
- Order, receive, and issue parts and maintain accurate computer records relative to inventory movement, real-time transfer and receiving
- Order, receive copier/printer equipment and accessories and maintain accurate computer records relative to inventory movement and receiving
- Identify and resolve problems related to inventory variances, stockroom operations and vendor orders
- Expedites the procurement of parts needed for equipment repair based on availability
- Ensures inventory levels are maintained in accordance with company inventory turn goals and obsolescence objectives
- Properly maintains data-base records in accordance with vendor costs and availability
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve business operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
- Ensures all Purchase Orders are processed on the order-side and receiving side real-time
- Ensures transfers are done timely and accurately and real-time
- Works Open-Order Report to ensure all equipment, parts and supply orders are on-time and accurate and customer satisfaction goals are met and adhered to
- Performs all warranties timely and accurately and real-time
- Perform other activities that support DOCUmation and our service organization

Education & Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity and sitting for extended periods of time
- Frequent standing and walking
- Ability to lift 50 pounds. Pull, lift, reach and transport equipment parts and boxes.
- Ability to communicate clearly in-person, and via phone and email
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and crouching
- Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents
