Dog Daycare Manager

Managers are responsible for staff supervision, maintaining the health, safety, and comfort of our 4-legged guests, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Duties include:

• Supervising, training, and mentoring Dog Caretakers and Assistant Managers
• Managing staff schedules and dog occupancy levels
• Tracking inventory and ordering supplies and equipment
• Leading, monitoring, and managing groups of dogs
• Using verbal cues, body blocking, and proactive intervention to manage group interactions
• Spending time interacting with each dog individually and knowing their limits, play styles, and help signals
• Planning activities with dogs that keep arousal levels low while everyone has fun
• Recording and reporting accurate info on the status, activities, health, and behavior of each dog to pet parents
• Handling guests (dogs) at check-in and check-out
• Greeting new clients (people) and explaining the program and the benefits for their dog
• Cleaning/sanitizing play areas, common areas, and crates
• Documenting, storing, and organizing guests’ food, medications, and belongings

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of dog daycare, kennel, veterinary clinic, or shelter experience
• Passion for animal care and providing fun activities for dogs
• Excellent knowledge of dog behavior
• Excellent people skills
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Physical ability to secure and handle large dogs
• Physical ability to clean and perform minor maintenance
• Experience with staff supervision is strongly preferred
• Post-high school education in a field related to animal care preferred

Must have reliable transportation and follow all company policies and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
