The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding and prior knowledge of various aspects of the digital image/video processing pipeline in professional and consumer capture and display devices. This role is perfect for someone passionate about multimedia technologies, professional imaging, and application engineering
You will be working on the development and implementation of cutting-edge methods and tools for measuring and tuning picture quality. Additionally, you will play a key role in mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
Specify and lead the development of tools and utilities to assist image/video quality tuning and evaluation.
Fine-tune image/video quality in display and capture systems.
Measure and characterize displays to ensure optimal performance.
Create/encode picture quality test/measurement images/video streams.
Document the overall process for the benefit of internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct training to support / field / OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) engineers on the tools, and utilities developed by the picture equality group
Partner with cross-functional teams such as product development and quality assurance.
Interface with SOC and display vendors and understand SOC’s image/video processing functions.
Engage with customers to understand their feedback and requirements and solve field issues.
Design and specify video quality reviews.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Master's degree is preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
In-depth knowledge of digital image/video processing theory and practice.
Deep understanding of image/video pipelines in TVs, monitors, PCs, game consoles, tablets, and mobile phones.
Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, and C/C .
Familiar with a wide range of digital image processing algorithms and techniques, as well as image quality metrics, measurement techniques, and optimization
Spatial/temporal interpolation
Sharpness/detail adjustment
Noise reduction and dithering
Color saturation and contrast control
Solid grasp of display backlight technology, and experience in fine-tuning control modules for optimized picture quality.
Understanding of advanced display technologies and related processing.
Proficient at applying scientific principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to a variety of challenging technical problems.
Excellent communication skills, and team-oriented work ethic.
Proven track record of successful product development in both consumer and professional display markets.
The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $145,300-$177,500, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
