JOB SUMMARY
The IT Analyst is responsible for providing support to various business facing IT Operations applications. This position will consult with users on how to efficiently utilize technology to ensure critical business applications remain operational and assist during application upgrades and new software implementations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide hands-on support with a high level of customer service to users of Operations applications
- Gather data from multiple sources, perform analytical assessments, interpret results, and recommend possible solutions to reported issues
- Effectively communicate new issues and resolutions to team members and fully document steps to resolve them
- Assist Project Managers and Business Analysts to implement information systems that optimize organizational efficiency.
- Assist in defining business and technical requirements based on business problems
- Assist with planning and monitoring projects and programs
- Assist Project Managers and Business Analysts in managing requirements at the project level to help fulfill the business need, and to assure valuable results to stakeholders. Also assist to determine if a solution has fulfilled the requirements.
- Also use requirements to drive the design or review of test cases, process change requests, and manage a project’s scope, acceptance, installation and deployment
- Enable users within Operations to easily help themselves with the goal of keeping the company productive and eliminate IT as a bottleneck to fixing issues
- Help identify areas of improvement and conceptualize methods on how to be more efficient
- Assist with training others inside and outside the department on new solutions as necessary
- Participate in new projects and application implementations as needed
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field preferred OR, an equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
- 5 years experience supporting IT business applications or operational role required
- Experience with Command Alkon and Sysdyne Technologies product lines preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must possess a strong desire to learn new technologies and systems
- General knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems
- Basic troubleshooting skills required
- Microsoft SQL skills required
- Proven hands-on experience supporting Operations applications
- Good attention to detail and works well under pressure
- Effective time-management skills
- Ability to track, manage, and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Must possess good analytical and problem-solving skills
- High organizational skills and prioritization of tasks required
- Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Ability to train professional and clerical staff in routine systems use.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, technical experts, and other employees.
- Ability to travel to various field locations for work purposes
- Willingness to work early mornings, nights, and weekends as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lift, push, or pull objects of various dimensions up to 30 lbs. of weight occasionally
- Ability to perform 80% sedentary work and tolerate prolonged standing/sitting/walking
- Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel
- Ability to verbally communicate, hear, and see
