Summary of Position
• Accountable for the accurate reporting of store inventory results.
• Responsible for reviewing and making adjustments when necessary to store markdowns, DC/store transfers and other transactions pertaining to book inventory.
• Verification of the store cutoff report, PBI report and the DM Workdown
• Analyze inventory results for reasonableness and accuracy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The primary tasks the associate will perform during his/her work schedule.
• Reconcile a minimum of 200 physical inventory counts each reporting period.
• Validate financial recording and tracking of merchandise movement.
• Assist store managers and district managers in proper inventory control procedures and paperwork.
• Assist the Inventory Control supervisor in research and documentation.
• Collaborate with Asset Protection, Accounts Payable, Merchandise Control, Internal Audit and Financial Reporting to investigate inventory accounting discrepancies.
Secondary Job Responsibilities
Any other tasks the associate might perform during his/her work schedule.
• Assist Inventory Control Supervisor in special projects.
• Scanning Inventory Work papers.
• Assist management in related projects.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
• Detail Oriented
• Organized
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Self-starter
• Query writing skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desired Qualifications
• Inventory service experience.
• Prior inventory control experience
• Understanding of Retail Accounting or Retail Account Experience
• Promotable to a position of more responsibility, desire to learn new job functions
• Accounting Experience or Accounting Associate Degree (or in process of obtaining)
