We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned and well-rounded user experience expert to join our agency and be part of the best and brightest in digital product talent. This role is open for folks who have 6-8 years working in User Experience (from strategy to tactical), preferably on large-scale enterprise web applications.
This role will be a dedicated position at our top Financial Services client, based in NYC and spans the range of user research & product strategy to execution of highly detailed design artifacts.
Description:
You will be responsible for gathering business requirements, conducting user research, creating diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes with user testing, while working closely with Product Owners to help make a shared vision - across business, users, and technology - a reality.
Please note that this position is heavily client-facing. The Sr. UX Designer is expected to lead the team to the best possible design solution while working within our client's project governance.
Role:
- Work with client to gather requirements and assets, and create rounds of diagrams, wireframes, and functional specifications. This includes planning and conducting requirements gathering workshops which will then be synthesized.
- Identify user requirements by researching and analyzing users needs, preferences objectives, and working methods; study how users consume content, including data categorization and labeling.
- Generate functional specifications document for all templates and user interactions for website or application.
- Organize information by translating user behavior into structure and elements; craft interactive experiences; produce workflow diagrams, user scenarios, flowcharts, and storyboards; prepare interaction specifications, navigation rules, organization of information, and site maps; coordinate with business, technology, product.
- Strategize on feature concepts, audience, IA, features, functionality, and user-interface design; create user scenarios; prepare data models; design information structure, work and data flow, and navigation; evaluate information representation; conduct creative meetings.
- Direct, review and collaborate with other designers on overall direction of designs.
- Work with design team and developers to ensure that UX has been translated properly.
- Project Execution Management
- Collaborate with stakeholders and articulate/defend solutions with users-centered design principles.
- Actively participate in, and represent, user and design team concerns in all project methodology meetings.
Requirements:
- 6-8 years in large scale application user experience
- Proficient with Sketch, Figma, Jira
- Proficiency with a variety of prototyping software such as InVision, Invision Studio, Principal, and Proto.io (be prepared to present examples from your portfolio).
- Familiar with best practices for web, mobile, and tablet applications.
Skills and Characteristics
- Ability to layout User Experience artifacts, including User Journey Maps, User Personas, App Diagrams, and more.
- Ability to conduct user interviews.
- Ability to gather business and user requirements, performance requirements analysis, and define Key Performance Indicators.
- Ability to collaborate with the Discovery and Implementation teams on Planning Discovery Sessions and Problem Solving client solutions.
- Ability to contribute to the product roadmap for client products.
- Ability to articulate and defend design decisions to client.
- Ability to work effectively across disciplines
