The Dominion Construction Assistant Superintendent role is to assist in managing the field construction of projects, including organizing, planning, and scheduling, to complete work on time, within budget, and to the quality specified.

Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify DCP core values and core focus.
  • Managing multiple projects at once if required, including self-performing tasks if required.
  • Scheduling all manpower required for designated trades.
  • Reading and understanding specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare for projects.
  • Overseeing projects with onsite subcontractors.
  • Driving and maintaining a detailed look-ahead schedule that meets the project milestone goals and is coordinated with the master CPM schedule for the project.
  • Coordinate with the PM team to ensure materials, subcontractors, and any other project resources are on-site to meet the project schedule. This is primarily a PM function, however, the field team has secondary responsibility to help drive schedules.
  • Follow the field work order process in conjunction with the project management team for any ticket work to ensure all costs are recovered from responsible parties.
  • Meeting with owners and professionals as required.
  • Maintaining superintendents daily reports, time sheets and associated paperwork daily.
  • Scheduling internal and external equipment to be used on the job site.
  • Holding safety meetings and retaining paperwork for records.
  • Maintaining on-site records of deliveries, accidents, visitors, unforeseen conditions, delays affecting schedule, R.F.I.s, and correspondence with subcontractors and professionals.
  • Keeping detailed records concerning delays due to weather and slow return of requested information from professionals, owners, and subcontractors.
  • Reviewing job sites for cleanliness and assisting safety directors and inspectors to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Enforcing company policy regarding tardiness, absenteeism, and sick days with any direct reports.
  • Maintaining unit completion matrix and punch list.
  • Competent in computer skills such as using email, MS Office Suite, and CM Software.
  • Following established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Positive Can Do attitude.
  • Follow the quality control process to ensure work is performed correctly the first time and rework is kept to a minimum.
  • Understand subcontractor scopes of work and hold subcontractors accountable for scope and schedule


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Commercial Construction Project Superintendent
  • Demonstrated experience with adaptive reuse, urban infill development, and high end multi family projects.
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations and procedures
  • Utilize computer skills for email, MS Office Suite, and CM Software
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Foster a positive "Can Do" attitude and navigate difficult situations with strong issue-resolution skills.


Compensation:

  • Starting salary at $65,000 - $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
