POSITION SCOPE

The Packaging Graphics Project Manager works within the New Product Development Team to deliver new artwork in various sales channels within US and Canada. This position will monitor the development of all branded and private label artwork from the end-to-end in the Graphic process while identifying and removing roadblocks to deliver consistently within lead times and quality standards. The Packaging Graphics Project Manager is responsible for preparing and communicating progress reports to the management while providing continuous improvement recommendations. This position is also responsible for maintaining positive business relationships with internal and external customers and vendors and will leverage business partnerships to accomplish organizational objectives.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • BS bachelor's degree (preferred), plus at least two years of experience working with commercial printing processes and branding
  • Experience working with Artwork Approval Systems
  • Project management process awareness/experience is preferred
  • Some experience in the FMCG environment is preferred
  • Office literate, especially Office 365


DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the artwork briefing and approval process from end to end, managing inputs from Brand and Innovation to ensure artworks are delivered on time in full to the highest standard
  • Lead artwork development progress communications within art-house and critical stakeholders
  • Report portfolio status and progress periodically to the management
  • Monitor and reconcile art house budget expenses
  • Generate requisition orders in SAP when necessary
  • Acts as a conduit and supports Packaging, Marketing, MRP, Suppliers, Repro house, Regulatory, NPD, and Private Label Customers, ensuring all critical deadlines are met
  • Provides regular updates to appropriate stakeholders on all projects, including updates on deadlines and pre-production trials
  • Manages 100-200 artwork components at any given time
  • Applies logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems and proactively address issues
  • Keeps manager informed both verbally and in writing of issues within assigned area of responsibility; escalates issues beyond the scope of authority as needed
  • Manages relationships artwork agencies to deliver on required business projects effectively
  • Approve artwork specifications in PLM Fiori (SAP-based system)
  • Raise new material components when required
  • Applies continuous improvement methodology when considering the artwork process
  • Attends print pass and signs off on colors where necessary
  • Completes ad-hoc support tasks for projects and ongoing client issues as assigned
  • With a keen eye for detail, you'll assess finished packaging to Print Quality, ensure color management processes are adhered to and liaise with Printers to optimize print where appropriate.
  • You'll need some experience with the main print methods used for food packaging and the complexities of using multiple substrates, printers, and processes within a brand portfolio.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Less than 5% travel for business meetings; travel frequency will be minimal based on business needs.
