Shipping coordinator

Description

The Shipping and Production Planning Coordinator is responsible for managing the day to day planning, truck and rail dispatching, and production schedules.

This role reports to the Logistics Manager. This position is a working coordinator role which includes, but is not limited to the following :

Key Functions : ·Responsible for establishing & maintaining the production schedule for the NC5 fluff pulp machine.This will include properly maintaining, scheduling, and managing of the mill-stock production order fulfillment process.

• Conducts daily reviews of container booking status changes. Then updates production schedule & order files with these daily changes.
• Assists in managingmill inventory levels for finished goodsto ensure availability is consistent with planned shipment windows and customer required onsite stock inventory.

Manages existing warehouse inventory and applies to incoming orders as required.·Coordinates production & transportation capacity planning.

Advises Logistics Manager & Corporate Production Planner of imbalances requiring schedule modifications or order shipment schedule adjustments.

• Will be required to plan and schedule shipments with dedicated dray carrier, trucking and rail lines as orders are processed & updated.
• Maintains accurate onsite order files, including daily changes & updates.·Performs additional duties as required. Requirements : ·Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to gain proficiency with Autoprod, DPS, and other software platforms related to the performance of daily job duties.
• Must have strong planning, prioritizing, problem solving and decision-making skills.·Possess leadership potential and a mindset for driving positive change in processes, expectations, and performance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral). Ability to effectively communicate across different levels of the organization.
• Some level of production and / or transportation planning experience is preferred.·Must be willing to be on-call including working off hours and weekends as required.

This position will be required to take after hours & weekend call duty for the Planning group.
