Junior Interior Designer
Donna Figg Design is a national interior design firm specializing in luxury residences, second homes, Multi-Family, and resort hospitality design. DFD offers personal attention throughout the design process. We listen to our clients’ ideas, then provide options that exceed their desires. We offer turnkey design services to our clients from fixed finish selections and construction documents to furniture selections and installation.
We are looking to bring a highly motivated, organized, and progressive-thinking interior design professional to join our team and bring added value to our portfolio of award-winning projects. A great candidate will have a positive attitude and is resourceful. Communication is critical and the candidate needs to work well independently and the entire design team. We offer a dynamic, supportive and balanced work environment.
Job Details:
· This is a full time position
· Primary work hours are normal business hours, Monday through Friday
· Some travel is required with trips lasting about 3-5 days for installs in and out of state
· Some overtime is anticipated
· Commission potential based on project profitability
· Report directly to the Senior Interior Designer
Candidate Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited institution a must
· 1 year of experience in high-end Residential or Hospitality Design is preferred
· Possess strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills
· Strong collaborative attitude while working with other team members, clients, contractors and vendors
· Proficient in AutoCAD and interior drawings is a must
· Experienced with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Mac a plus.
· Experience with furniture selections
· Experience with fixed finish selections
· Experience with Interior construction drawings
· Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly
· Possess a high-level of integrity, a willingness to make decisions, a balanced and calm perspective, a genuine curiosity to continue to learn our craft, and an empathetic attitude while solving problems
· Demonstrate creative abilities and problem-solving skills
· Ability to self-manage and demonstrate high level of professionalism
· Must have reliable transportation for out of town travel, within the state
Job Responsibilities:
· Create conceptual design with inspiration images, materials, etc.
· Develop conceptual furnishings plans and budget spreadsheets
· Create presentation material boards with fixed finish samples, furnishings, and/or fabrics
· Source furniture, fabrics, wall coverings, etc. in various design styles & budgets
· Present designs to clients, project team, and potential clients
· Develop strong relationships with builders & vendors
· Source interior finishes, plumbing, lighting, hardware, etc., in various design styles, budgets and schedules
· Produce interior finish, plumbing fixture and decorative light fixture specifications
· Develop set of interior construction documents, including, finish & furniture plans, interior elevations, and details
· Create presentation documents (electronic design manual) and attend client meetings
· Work within a furnishings budget and make sure cost implications are communicated with the Project Designer
· Coordination with receiving warehouse, when applicable, and all phases of a project’s installation
