Job Title: Shop Lead - Door Renew

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Description:

Are you a woodworking professional seeking an engaging leadership role? Door Renew is seeking a Shop Lead to oversee and assist in the restoration and finishing process of front doors for our valued customers. As the Shop Lead, you'll ensure quality control and timely production, ensuring every door meets our high standards and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with customers to understand their finishing and color preferences
• Skillfully disassemble door hardware and inspect doors for damage or rot
• Perform repairs, remove imperfections, and fill in cracks with meticulous attention to detail
• Apply finishing lubricants such as varnish, stains, or shellac, ensuring a flawless finish
• Oversee the team, ensuring brand standards and client preferences are met for door refinishing services
• Prioritize safety and well-being of team members and maintain shop organization
• Mentor apprentices and conduct ongoing training sessions for skill enhancement
• Collaborate closely with the general manager to set and achieve production goals

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Certificate in Woodworking Technology (preferred)
• 3-5 years of prior woodworking experience
• Minimum of 1 year of management experience
• Excellent customer service skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency in staining and finishing techniques
• Advanced hand-eye coordination and design skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Hands-on experience with a variety of hand and power tools
