The Deputy Director oversees the day-to-day activities of the agency and supervises operations across both centers. Duties encompass department management, staff training, and aiding the Executive Director in strategic planning and agency endeavors. Serving as a linchpin for smooth operations, the Deputy Director is instrumental in maintaining the efficiency of the Senior Centers. This role demands a dynamic individual with robust organizational, managerial, and interpersonal proficiencies to manage diverse facets of daily center activities. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Deputy Director works closely with fellow staff to uphold the center's mission and values.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Deputy Director reports to the Executive Director. The Deputy Director assists the Executive Director in managing DSI employees and volunteers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with Executive Director and other staff to develop engaging and diverse programs and activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors.
· Conveys organization’s mission and strategic plan to staff and community partners.
· Supervises daily activities of managerial and support staff
· Manages administrative functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the organization
· Networks in the community to share DSI events and services
· Monitor and manage department budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability. Prepare financial reports and forecasts for review by Executive Director.
· Identify and mitigate operational risks to safeguard the well-being of staff, members, and assets.
· Works at both centers on a regular basis
· Drives company vehicles as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities/Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s Degree preferred in field of social or human relations
· Excellent time management skills, ability to keep team on task and follow agency policies
· Excellent people skills with proven ability to lead and delegate.
· Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a senior center or similar community-based organization.
· Knowledge of QuickBooks, financial management, leadership development, and marketing experience.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Strong critical thinking, analytical, organizational skills
· Familiarity with and ability to communicate effectively on topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
· Must be bondable.
· Must be experienced in operating a computer and in Microsoft Office.
· Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as defined by the company automobile insurance policy.
