As we prepare to go public and expand our operations, we are seeking a talented and experienced Buyer to join our dynamic team.


Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Buyer at Dot AI. The Buyer will be responsible for day-to-day procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships. The role involves analyzing market trends, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. While the role is primarily located in Bethesda, MD, some remote work is acceptable.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing & Procurement: Identify and develop relationships with reliable suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality materials and components.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best possible deals while maintaining quality and reliability standards.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and coordinate with the production team to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
  • Cost Management: Analyze market trends and pricing to maintain cost-effectiveness and profitability while meeting budgetary constraints.
  • Supplier Performance: Evaluate supplier performance regularly and manage supplier relationships to ensure compliance with quality standards and timely delivery.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to align procurement activities with company goals and project timelines.


Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles and practices
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the IIOT or technology sector
  • Proficient in data analysis and market research
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus


Certifications: Professional certifications such as CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) are a plus.
