What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Dot's Pretzels?
Dot's Pretzels is looking for a Production Supervisor in our Lenexa, KS location. The Production Supervisor will oversee all daily operations of the entire processing and packaging on the production floor for their designated shift. This person will direct the employees to ensure procedures are followed and drive the operation to maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity. This position will be second in line to the plant manager for the entire facility.
This Supervisor will need to flexible. Primary hours for the position will be overnights Wednesday/Thursday to Saturday from 5 pm to 5 am.
Job Duties Include
- Follow all SOP’s and SSOPs to keep consistent product quality
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out in an accurate and timely manner
- Follow all FDA health and OSHA safety regulations and effectively stay up to date on Dot’s Food Safety Management Plan and Safety Program
- Plan, organize, direct and run day-to-day operations to exceed our customers expectations
- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
- Maintain effective communication to lead and direct the team leads and production floor
- Coach team members, complete disciplinary action when necessary, conduct performance reviews and assist in interviewing and selecting new team members
- Understand all equipment and systems and ensure it is kept in pristine condition
- Manage inventory onsite at a high level of accuracy for raw materials and finished product
- Minimize and manage all waste points throughout the process
- Oversee Preventative Maintenance program for the facility and equipment
- Be a self-starter; ability to work independently as well as with other personnel and management.
- Attend required company meetings and training and participate in constructive discussion.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
- Conduct self in the presence of customers and community to present a professional image of Dot’s Pretzels.
- Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
Requirements
- Proven managerial experience in a manufacturing environment
- High School diploma or GED required
- Technical expertise or familiarity with industry standard equipment
- Knowledge of safety (OSHA), quality (FDA), productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
- Computer program knowledge including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Team building, decision making and people management skills
- Ability to lift 45 pounds repetitively
- Ability to bend, twist and stand on your feet for an entire sift
- Exposed to food production environment and warehouse environment which may involve noise and fluctuating temperatures
- Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
