Commerce Editorial Director, Verywell Fit/Family/Health

About Your Role

The Verywell sites are looking for an Editorial Director to join the Commerce team to oversee Verywell Health, Verywell Fit, and Verywell Family, helping to grow revenue and our audience. This role is responsible for managing and creating the content strategy for our shopping content. The main duties for this role will be managing a team of editors and writers, maintaining the content pipeline and strategy and working with our testing team to help coordinate our product testing roadmap.

This role reports to the Director, Health Group and works with the Health Editorial team—as well as with Dotdash Meredith’s Growth/SEO team—to support guidelines for updates and standards, as well as to ensure that our articles are accurate, inclusive, comprehensive, and accessible.

About the role:

• Drive editorial commerce strategy.
• Manage a team of full-time employees as well as a vast team of freelancers.
• Work with our product testing team.
• Improve workflow efficiencies where needed.
• Identify keyword gaps and up-and-coming trends in your relevant industry.
• Stay on top of the latest products and innovations in the health, fitness, and family space.
• Analyze revenue and make both editorial and data-driven decisions based on your knowledge.
• Develop and maintain best practices across your brands and how they relate to commerce.
• Lead editorial projects that enhance the readers’ experience and give our brands more authority .
• Communicate effectively with the editorial team, product, revenue, growth, testing, and all stakeholders across the organization.

About you:

• 
  8 years of editing experience at a digital-focused publisher
• 6 years working in the commerce and affiliate industry
• Experience with SEO best practices and tools and how it relates to content
• Background with home content preferred
• Experience working in Skimlinks, Amazon Associates, and pulling revenue numbers
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Management experience
• Proficiency in project management tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or AirTable
• A track record of growth in your past roles
• Experience scaling copy and editorial operations in a high-growth environment
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
• Skilled editor, comfortable giving constructive feedback and guidance and developing the editing skills of your team
• Strong copywriter, capable of writing engaging, lively headlines and blurbs, all the while keeping a predefined voice in mind
• Bachelor's degree required
