What are the responsibilities and job description for the Photo Retouching Manager position at Dotdash Meredith?
The Photo Retouching Manager is responsible for supporting all visual asset post-production and management across brands for the Dotdash Commerce group. The right candidate will have a passion for color and an eye for detail, and ideally has professional experience with retouching to best assess and ensure quality deliverables. The retouching manager enforces post-production schedules and manages our retouching resources to deliver final visual assets to our editors, as well as maintaining our photo database. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage priorities and timelines while producing quality work.
About Your Contributions:
- Support the delivery of all visual assets for Dotdash Product testing, both for at-home testing and in-Lab shoots, managing retouching for a wide range of product, environmental and on figure images that may involve complex cleanup and color correction.
- Collaborate with the Commerce, and Production, and Editorial teams to uphold the visual identities for all brands, ensuring that all retouching fits within branding guidelines and specified art direction.
- Manage post-production schedules and resources to quickly deliver final assets and ensure our photo database and internal workflow tools are maintained.
- Ensure all technical specs are consistently followed (file naming, file size, number of deliverables etc).
About You:
- You have a history of producing high-quality output for both print and digital channels.
- You have 2-5 years of experience retouching ecom editorial imagery.
- You are exceptionally detail-oriented and well organized.
- You’re proactive and able to show initiative to foresee / resolve issues related to post workflow.
- You have a keen understanding of color theory.
- You’re able to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines.
- You’re self-motivated, resourceful, hardworking with a positive, can-do attitude.
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- You are seasoned in Adobe Creative Suite (Expert in PS CC).
