This position is for 3rd Shift- the hours of 11PM to 7:30 AM.
Position Purpose:
Lead the Quality Department to ensure all products meet customer requirements and specifications, as well as, company expectations. Also, communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow proper safety procedures including the use of all safety equipment, personal protective gear and safety glasses
- Perform part inspections and audits of the process and products in order to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Perform roving audit/inspection of the production lines, document (Shift Report) all findings and communicate well with Shift Group Leaders and Plant Management
- Measure and document the retain samples from daily production
- Ensure the correct charts and forms are on the floor and maintain all measurement document filing and identify trends
- Monitor all measurement results in accordance with specified dimensions and notify Plant Management and the Director of QA of any and all out of specification readings or warning trends
- Review and verify customer drawings/requirements match scheduled production specifications and are correct in the BLM (Beta LaserMike) machine
- Responsible for timely root cause analysis and corrective actions for all customer complaints (CARS)
Responsible for timely root cause analysis and corrective actions for internally generated quality issues (NCM’s/ICARS) in order to reduce customer complaints and reduce scrap and for entering the information into the U-DRIVE
- Responsible for ensuring all gauges are calibrated per the schedule and for controlling all gauges
- Hold non-conforming production and generate the NCM and ensure proper disposition
- Monitor production personnel with rework instructions and duties
- Perform and document all duties outlined in the CONTROL PLANS
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. (College degree preferred)
Required knowledge:
- Solid understanding of Quality Assurance principles. (ISO-9000 experience preferred but not required)
- Solid math skills
- Solid written and oral communication skills
Experience Required:
- Must be self-motivated and able to complete tasks with little assistance.
- Must be able to understand quality standards and perform visual and dimensional quality inspections
- 1-3 years in a Quality Lead/Supervisor role preferred
Skills/Abilities
- Solid understanding of all measurement tools and devices such as scales, calipers, micrometers and go no-go gauges
- Experience in automated vision systems preferred such as the Beta LaserMike.
- Excellent computer skills required including EXCEL and WORD and preferable MINI-TAB and/or SQC Pack
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Must have good interpersonal skills
