Doubletree Pikesville is looking for an energetic Banquet House Person to join the Banquet Team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Responsible to set-up room/venues for functions such as meetings and weddings.
o Set-up includes tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, etc., to meet each function’s specifications.
o Properly clean meeting space at beginning, during, and end of events, including not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, wiping, scrubbing
o Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hilton from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
o Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following other duties, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirements of the company.
o Completes assigned side work to include cleaning meeting space and storage space, that adhere to standard hotel products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
o Abides by all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
o Attends all mandatory meetings.
o Keeps work area clean and organized.
o Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Thorough knowledge of basic food preparation and restaurant operations including foods, beverages, service techniques, and guest interaction.
o Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously to perform essential job functions.
o Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., and to lift lighter objects overhead.
o Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and to collect accurate information and to resolve problems.
o Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
o Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
