Job Title: Manager, Quality

Location: Keosauqua, Iowa


What we’re looking for:


We are looking for a Manager, Quality who will provide leadership to the quality assurance team to drive a Quality mindset across the organization, manage customer feedback, personnel, budget and expenditure process, and influence leadership to create a culture of continuous improvement that will deliver savings to the annual operating plan (COPQ).


What you’ll be responsible for in this role:


  • This position will be responsible to implement and manage the quality management systems and quality staff to include hiring, performance management, employee development, and discipline actions.
  • Will coordinate with production, engineering, warehouse, internal/external suppliers and customers to resolve manufacturing issues and quality problems through corrective action systems.
  • Assist in insuring compliance with DGA, NSF, UL and other standards.
  • Will develop, establish, and monitor production quality and internal audit standards, directing testing standards as required to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
  • Assist with the investigation, resolution, and communication of customer concerns or complaints about products through the service team.
  • Drive resolution to issues working with production, purchasing, and engineering teams.
  • Take necessary steps to control and segregate potentially unsafe or poor-quality products.
  • Develop and implement productions tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operation reports, to detect and resolve internal problems.
  • Support maintaining a safe working environment throughout the organization.
  • Be a change agent to lead a Quality and continuous improvement culture.


What are the basic qualifications?


  • Bachelors’ Degree in statistical, technical, or business-related field with 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • 3 years managing a team
  • 3 years in diverse manufacturing operations including assembly processes.


What are the preferred qualifications?


  • Engineering degree
  • Continuous improvement background
  • Background in lean and six sigma techniques


To be a great fit for the role:


  • Solid knowledge in functional quality management systems (i.e. ISO-9001).
  • Strong analytical skills and the knowledge of applied statistical tools.
  • Ability to synthesize data into meaningful conclusions to develop and implement effective action plans.
  • Project management skills and experience.
  • Extensive understanding of MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, proven ability to manage diversity and motivate others, including a high degree of integrity and conflict resolution skills.
  • Hands on experience on production floor QC and QA.
