Dow is looking for a highly motivated, self-directed, experienced person to fill a Senior Integrity Inspector position in Carrollton TES Fixed Asset in the Carrollton, KY. About you and this role: The purpose of this role is to leverage inspection expertise throughout the businesses of the Dow Chemical Company. This role exists to provide technical knowledge and skill in the application of work processes for mechanical integrity compliance. This role is part of the Fixed Asset Integrity Team aligned to the Technical Expertise and Support Organization. The successful candidate will provide technical support and coordination for the inspection of fixed equipment and piping. The API Inspector must leverage knowledge of inspection techniques and conditions to ensure the most effective and reliable plant operating status. Responsibilities: Serve as subject matter expert for all inspection-related issues in assigned areas. Perform mechanical integrity inspections. Participate in Department and Plant meetings as appropriate. Provide inspection support to Engineering as required to support plants. Provide technical expertise to plant personnel when troubleshooting plant equipment inspection related issues. Follow Dow and API Inspection Procedures, Processes, and communicating opportunities for improvement. Lead small workgroup daily activities. Work coordination of nested contract employees supporting the assigned area to complete mechanical integrity compliance tasks. Follow applicable Maintenance work processes and help resolve issues involved in planning and scheduling inspections. Participate on all applicable Turnaround and Daily Plant Assessment Teams. Provide technical expertise and communication to plant personnel on potential preventative maintenance recommendations or repair scope based on past and present inspection findings. Compile, review, and approve mechanical integrity system required documentation. Must have the ability to communicate orally and in a written format to others (craftsmen, technicians, engineers, equipment owners, and upper management at Dow sites and vendor shops). i.e. Technical Reports documenting equipment conditions. Integrity with attention to detail and must follow processes. Provide Technical observations and recommendations for maintaining compliance to the mechanical integrity program requirements and safe and reliable operations. Willing to work overtime and call outs as necessary. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. 1 or more American Petroleum Institute Certification (API 510, 653, 570). 1 or more years of experience with American Society of Mechanical Engineers/API Codes and Standards. 4 or more years of experience in Inspection/Non-Destructive Testing. Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed. Must possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card. A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. Preferred Qualifications: NDT Level II Radiography Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Penetrant Testing, Visual Testing, Ultrasonic Testing or Certified Welding Inspector CWI. 4 or more years of experience in Inspection/Non-Destructive Testing. Physical Requirements: Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations: Lift, push, and pull. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting Stand and walk for extended periods of time Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders. Work in tight and closed in spaces. Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator. Work in an area of intense or continuous noise. Work in an area with hazardous materials Possess a certain degree of manual dexterity. Preferred Skills: Have basic computer/workstation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledgeable in Electronic Maintenance Management and Inspection Management Software (e.g. SAP, etc.). Knowledgeable and able to identify potential damage mechanisms based on equipment’s material of construction and process conditions. Self-motivated. Willing to work and contribute in a team-based environment. Interpersonal Effectiveness and Teamwork. Ability to coordinate numerous activities with conflicting priorities.
