Professional Land Surveyor

Dowdell Engineering is currently searching for an experienced Rhode Island Registered Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to manage the survey requirements for our projects. Most of our projects are for individual homeowners or land developers in need of Town, RIDEM and RICRMC permitting. The successful applicant must be dedicated, detail-oriented, and articulate.

Responsibilities

● Boundary, topographical surveys and associated research

● Construction stake out

● Land and administrative subdivisions

● Coastal feature and wetland mapping

● Metes and Bounds descriptions

● Elevation certificates

● Dock design, base surveys, soundings

● Road Surveys and Roadway layout

Preferred Experience

● OWTS (on-site wastewater system) design and permitting with RIDEM

● Familiarity with South County RI Towns (Charlestown, Westerly, South Kingstown, Narragansett, North Kingstown, Exeter, Hopkinton and Richmond)

● Familiarity with permitting agencies RIDEM and RICRMC

Requirements

● Must possess the Rhode Island Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) Licensure, or ability to gain RI PLS licensure through reciprocity within 6 months of hire. Additional registrations, or the ability to become registered in the States of Connecticut and Massachusetts is considered desirable.

● At least 3 years of relevant experience in land surveying

● Ability to read and comprehend deeds, boundary documents and easements

● Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Carlson Survey/IntelliCAD

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
