~ Full Time Position ~ Downey & Scott, LLC Construction Management Services is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team of professionals in delivering critical construction support services for our clients. The position will provide Project Coordinator support services to Northern Virginia Community College.
NVCC Facilities Planning Department is responsible for implementing all non-capital and capital construction projects, from design through construction to occupancy. The Project Management and Construction Management Team is committed to delivering projects successfully, professionally, and collaboratively while keeping customer satisfaction a priority and serving the College's best interest.
General Description of Position:
The Project Coordinator will support Project Managers and other Senior staff in managing document control and coordinating construction project information for the NVCC system.
The ideal candidate will have a background in the construction industry with the following:
- 1 years of construction industry experience (Preferred but not required)
- Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture Degree (Preferred but not required)
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills, keen attention to detail, workflow experience, quality control, and demonstrated organizational skills
- Participate in construction meetings to assist Project Management team members
- Perform project record-keeping and related documentation
- Ability to think strategically, plan, and collaborate with project team members
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Valid State Driver’s License with an insurable driving record
- Ability to maintain harmonious relationships with all project stakeholders, including NVCC staff, faculty, project management team members
- Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing
Responsibilities include:
- Work closely with project management team members to conduct onboarding
- Work closely with project management team members scheduling meetings and updating them on project details
- Collect, organize, electronically file and search for project documentation as requested
- Maintain drawing access database
- Perform project workflow, record keeping, reports, and related documentation
- Review projects quarterly with Project Manager, meet with A/Es and JOC for QC/QA, and maintain A/Es and JOC databases
- Review new project requests and ensure all necessary tasks are completed correctly and filed
- Assist Project Managers with local permits, bids, and budget reports
- Track project alerts and discuss with the project management team during meetings
- Assist in completing Project Management Guidebook
- Prepare forms and documents as requested by project team members
- Build and maintain client relationships
The position will be based out of the NVCC Annandale Campus.
