Job Definition
Reporting to the US Controller, this position will be responsible for producing Doxim’s financial statements for US entities as assigned, understand the daily operations of the accounting department, analyzing all financial reports, and developing accounting methods & policies. We are looking for an experienced and focused individual with strong communication, technology, and analytical abilities to undertake all aspects of accounting and perform special projects as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Assist the Controller in the daily banking requirements as needed.
- Support budget and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with the other US finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
- Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
- Responds to inquiries from the CFO, Controller, and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
- Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
- Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
To succeed in this role, you:
- Have completed a University Degree and possess a valid, active Professional Accounting Designation (CPA);
- 3 years of experience in a related capacity with experience as a manager and a proven record of strong performance;
- 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience;
- Have dealt with complex organizational structures and consolidations, including analyzing and accounting for acquisitions;
- Have proven financial analytical skills and high attention to detail;
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains;
- Have a mindset for continuous improvement;
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with time constraints and collaborate seamlessly with others in the organization.
