Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in construction management, project management, and construction estimating.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to accurately estimate costs
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment
- Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
- Review and analyze change orders to assess cost impacts
- Prepares and estimates budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications.
-Evaluates offers to purchase by site requirements, additions, and costing changes.
-Resolves cost differences by analyzing and collecting info.
- Writes up and presents budgets, reports, and project plans.
- Develops bids for construction projects.
-Works closely with architects and other professionals.
-Schedules meetings with clients, site managers, and staff.
-Navigates and understands building codes.
-Processes paperwork and travels to building sites as required.
-Stays up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in the Commercial industry
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate favorable contract terms
- Knowledge of cost control methods and strategies
- Familiarity with Bluebeam or other construction management tools
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic
- Ability to navigate specifications and plans
- Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects
- Ability to handle multiple assignments at once
- Knowledge of the latest building codes
- Close attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
