Job Description DPR Construction is seeking a cost control engineer with primary responsibilities for cost and change management. This position requires a minimum of 3 years commercial construction experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Support the setup of cost tracking numbers in CMiC to facilitate the creation of client billings and tracking of budgets, change orders, and both committed and actual costs Investigation of variances between estimated, committed, and actual amounts with recommendations of solution or recovery plans. Review purchase orders and subcontract commitments and expenditures in the project controls system Support audits of subcontractor payment applications Forecast, labor, material, equipment and other, non allowable costs Manage, forecast & monitor owner allowances, contingencies and cost to complete Create and progress cash flow over project life cycle Provide statistical analysis that indicates the project health, trends and potential risks and opportunities Provide early warning to project team of indicators leading to potential cost or schedule impacts Alert entire project team to potential problem areas or deviations from the budget Assist in development of recovery plans, mitigation options, or delay analysis Assist project team with internal Monthly Status Report Lead development of project the change order process/workflow with project team, and take the lead through project life cycle to manage change process Quality Control for PCI and changes submitted to Owner Create variance reports, graphics, and narratives to forecast potential issues or conflicts Monitor CMiC costs for accuracy, maintenance and alignment with Owners contract Develop with project team key performance indicators for Trade Partners Create Owner reporting, project metrics, graphs, tracking logs, as required Liaise with scheduling resource to discuss the relationship between schedule updates and costs Provide risk management input on items with potential cost impacts Qualifications: We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess: Construction experience with demonstrated knowledge of basic construction methods and organization Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering or related field preferred Extensive experience utilizing CMiC Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills Proficient in working with CMiC, P6 Primavera and Microsoft Office Suite 2 years’ experience with project controls on commercial or industrial projects A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude Applicant should possess familiarity with some of the software currently exercised and leveraged on DPR projects including: CMiC for Project Management – submittals, RFI’s, change orders, etc. Bluebeam Studio – submittal collaboration. Primavera – CPM scheduling.
