Key responsibilities:
- Develop scope of work and determine deliverables for projects based on preliminary reviews and meetings with the Client
- Coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines such as mechanical, structural, architectural and process to develop designs
- Execute site master planning, concept designs and preliminary engineering phases with other team members as the Advance Technology Group (ATG).
- Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems.
- Be able progress the sequence of operation (SSO) development with our Clients systems owners.
- Identify and research future Semiconductor industry trends. Keep on top of technology and industry developments.
- Assist in the development of group’s systems, procedures, standards and knowledge management.
- Support Business Development through client engagement at senior levels.
- Develop, organize and control programs to eliminate existing or potential process / engineering / design problems and innovate and deliver plant improvements for our clients.
- Independently lead plant design activities as an area/system leader and coordinate with multi-discipline designers.
- Perform I&C design work across several engineering disciplines in 2D/3D integrated design systems.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and vendor bid evaluations.
- Assist in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects.
- Size and specify instruments and produce datasheets
- Develop control system architecture
- Panel design for control systems
- Develop standard installation details.
- Update P&ID’s with controls content.
- Produce control system philosophy with input from other disciplines as required.
- Produce instrument lists and cable schedules
- Provide technical backup to the operations design teams in resolving specific complex process/plant problems.
Skills & experience required:
- 3-5 years of relevant I&C Engineering/Design experience
- Expertise/knowledge Instrumentation & Controls engineering design programs
- Knowledge of electrical systems designs and applicable codes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience with MCC and VFD control requirements.
- Familiar with wiring regulations
- Familiar with ATEX requirements
- Result-oriented, customer-focused.
- General knowledge of electrical system design and applicable codes.
- Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels.
