What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at DQS Inc?

JOB OBJECTIVES:

Staff Accountant position will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Team Lead and Accounting Operations team with monitoring, recording, reconciling, and reporting. The position requires the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis of account balances utilizing accounting software system and partnering with global accounting team members for intercompany transaction processing. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Assist with financial reporting and month-end close.
  • Monthly reconciliations for all accounts.
  • Monthly reconciliations of intercompany accounts and invoicing/payment of intercompany transactions.
  • Assist with fixed asset reports and post depreciation monthly.
  • Participate in the audit process.
  • Assist in the preparation of Form 1099 for contract resources.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with GAAP and tax research, and the review of period end financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure compliance with GAAP and tax guidance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience with general ledger accounting required.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Dynamics 4.0/Dynamics 365, analysis tools like Power BI, and SharePoint preferred.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Desire for advanced training, education, and/or CPA (Company supported).
  • Accuracy - Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Analytical Skills - Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem. 
  • Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
