Responsibilities:
- Processes technical publications for cybersecurity policy and procedures, acts as the liaison with various groups in managing the checkpoints for the publication process
- Strong coordinator in providing organization to service governance and standardization activities across CISA including:
- Building out agendas for meetings
- Taking meeting minutes and editing and publishing meeting minutes
- Track the development of service governance and standardization publications and initiate communications with government points of contact to report on status and any potential issues impacting completion
- Strong coordinator in providing organization to communication activities including:
- Building out agendas for meetings – being able to identify key personnel through organization who should be tracked against those meetings
- Maintain Microsoft Office applications—including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel—and other process management software
- Maintaining tools (SharePoint, Excel spreadsheets) to monitor project progress and activities and ensure consistent service governance communications
- Drafting correspondence through emails, newsletters, memos to articulate business operations
- Development or editing of briefings/PowerPoint decks and/or Word Documents to facilitate discussion during meetings or to convey organizational information to a wide audience
- Development of service governance and standardization artifacts with limited oversight, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), playbooks, templates, roadmaps, and technical guidelines or handbooks.
- Provides direct support to CISA service governance client and takes initiative to understand service processes, tools, and documentation to improve service management and delivery
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office – particularly MS Word and Outlook, but also requires solid understanding of Excel, PowerPoint, and basic SharePoint administration.
- Strong communication skills through both writing, building out presentations, and acting as a facilitator.
- Solid technical editing/writing skills – strong comfort level in using MS Word in taking information from multiple documents and being able to synthesize the information into a report template requiring attention to: i)Proper formatting ii)Building Table of Contents/Use of Headings.
- Able to independently manage tasks on their own where they collaborate with others to understand task requirements and are then able to complete most of the task independently.
- 1-3 years’ experience, BA or BS in relevant field such as Business Management, Communications, Technical Writing, Organizational Management, or Journalism
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of how to carry out a publications process (especially related to technical content)
- Background in process software like ServiceNow
- Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices, particularly IT service management, standardization, and service improvement practices
