Dr. Oetker is a state-of-the-art Pizza Production Facility in London, Ontario. With our Head Quarters in Germany, and operations in over countries around the world, we are an international company with deep family roots dating back to 1.
Our London facility which employees about associates showcases modern, highly automated, high volume production lines where we produce Ristorante, Casa di Mama and Giuseppe pizzas under the Dr.
In our facility, we start with raw materials such as flour and yeast to make a great pizza crust, topping with sauce and ingredients to make a fantastic, finished pizza and then freezing and packaging the pizzas for retail distribution.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager , the Health & Safety Coordinator will :
- Work with Managers and Supervisors to assist and implement plant safety objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with the facilitation and monitoring of the Plant Safety Program to reduce the risk of workplace injuries.
- Lead the JHSC meetings, inspections, and follow-up on the implementation of corrective actions.
- Facilitate health and safety training requirements.
- Provide assistance with WSIB claims management.
- Follow-up on incident reports and investigations with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Assist with conducting audits and investigations to ensure safe operations, conducting root cause analysis and risk assessments, along with implementing corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and current records in accordance with legislation and company safety program.
- Assist with facilitating ergonomic evaluations and implement ergonomic solutions.
- Provide health and safety support to the sanitation team, required to occasionally work the overnight sanitation shift.
Your Strengths and Qualifications :
- Post-secondary education in Health and Safety is required
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role; food industry or manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to prioritize activities and multi-task in a busy work environment
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and organization skills
- Knowledge of applicable provincial safety legislation, regulation and standards
- Proficient with computer and mobile applications
- CRSP, CRST or CHSC designation or in the process of obtaining designation
- Must be able to touch and work with pork, chicken and beef products
