As a Transportation Analyst, you will play a critical role in optimizing our transportation and supply chain network. Your responsibilities will involve analyzing logistics data, evaluating transit efficiency, identifying streamlined transportation methods, and advising on what should be optimal supply chain highway from a transportation perspective. You function as the primary internal & external contact for all transportation related topics. This includes pricing, delivery escalations, alternative routings, and special delivery requirements. In addition, you ensure that all relevant data is being transmitted into our Freight Information System (FIS), to ensure consistently delivers high quality and timely information.
In this role you will:
Work closely with the freight carriers to ensure that their performance is in line with the agreed upon SLA’s and initiate corrective action, when necessary. Coordinate all activities required to improve carrier performance. Present metrics and any open issues with carriers at quarterly business reviews.
Support the Customer Service and warehouse teams with any special transportation requirements needed by customers, including special transportation requests outside the normal routes. Book customer returns needed through KDL. Acts as liaison between Draeger and 3PL providers (KDL, nVision, along with both warehouses)
Function as the point person for all NA transportation issues / escalations:
Coordinate with other operational groups & internal / external customers, to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of shipments, material receipts, and other transport activities.
Monitor industry trends and assess their impact on transportation operations.
Monitor and analyze the daily file transfers of shipment data into the FIS system.
Oversee IFTSTA’s completeness. If missing run carrier reports and update manually
Manage the freight cost reconciliation for NA within FIS from nVision paid invoices:
Track success/failure rate to determine areas in need of improvement to achieve successful data merges.
Evaluate transportation processes and recommend process improvements
Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (Business or technical – engineering - degree preferred) or the equivalent in education, training & experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Functions related to freight carriers and shipping.
Related Experience:
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Functions related to freight carriers and shipping. Experience with billing and invoicing a plus.
Special Competencies or Certifications:
Draeger has several sites located across North America as well as field-based sales and service positions. Our North America headquarters is located in Telford, PA just north of Philadelphia. We also have US sites in Andover, MA, and Houston, TX. Our Canada site is located in Mississauga, Ontario.
Our US headquarters located north of Philadelphia in Telford, Pennsylvania is our US manufacturing site for our Neonatal product line supplying many global customers as well as production support for Draeger’s Safety products. This location also serves as the key site for essential US functions which includes Medical Sales and Service Management, Medical Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Quality and Finance.
