RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifies safety compliance or non-compliance by inspecting project site and working environment.
- Identifies personal safety compliance or non-compliance by observing employees' and subcontractors’ behaviors and use of protective equipment.
- Prepares employees by developing and conducting safety training orientation classes and coaching employees.
- Assures safety equipment functioning by inspecting and testing equipment and alarms.
- Inspect and evaluate work areas for hazards and unsafe working conditions and takes necessary action.
- Investigates accidents, files reports, and analyzes nature of accident to determine cause and necessary corrective action.
- Contribute to EHS Department by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.
- Effectively develop and apply the core skills to the job.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Minimum 3 years EHS work experience, with 1 year in similar industry.
- Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) preferred
- 10-hours formal safety training in past 3 years.
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to interact professionally with employees and clients of various levels.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
