Senior/Principal RA, Scientist, Protein Analytics

Responsibilities:
- Provide protein mass spectrometry support of antibodies, TriNKETs, and recombinant proteins, including intact mass, peptide mapping, post-translational modification identification, and de novo sequencing
- Support developability studies by identifying and quantifying the chemical modification of amino acids
- Previous experience with Thermo and Waters mass spectrometers and Protein Metrics data analysis software is highly desired
- Provide biophysical and biochemical characterization support to inform lead candidate selection
- Interpret results and communicate with cross-functional colleagues and external partners for successful execution/completion of project
- Prepare technical reports, internal and external presentations
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new and existing mass spectrometry-based technologies to improve protein characterization capabilities, throughput, and quality
- Ensure effective, high-quality, timely and appropriate documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks
- Prepare reagents, buffers, and equipment as needed to support experiments
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, or equivalent related fields with 0-2 years relevant industry experience or B.S. / M.S. with 5 years’ relevant industry experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in protein mass spectrometry.
- Experience with characterization of proteins with techniques such as DSF, DSC, SEC-MALS, DLS/SLS, CE, cIEF, HPLC-based assays (SEC, HIC, IEX, etc.) is desirable.
- The candidate should be self-motivated, accountable, inquisitive, and have excellent organization and communication skills
