What are the responsibilities and job description for the Demand Planner position at DRB Systems LLC?

DRB Systems (“DRB”) is the leading provider of technology-enabled devices and software solutions to the North American car wash industry. The Demand Planner role is a key collaboration point between multiple departments and data sources, feeding into the material forecasting process. The demand planning process allows DRB to correctly predict customer demand and provide its supply chain with the appropriate information to plan how to meet that customer demand. Demand planning and forecast accuracy are closely tied to the operational performance of DRB Systems, supporting key business decisions throughout the organization.

Essential Functions:

Illustrative duties may include, but are not restricted to, the following:

Material Forecasting:

  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast result
  • Maintain the ERP Demand Planning modules with the CRM as the primary forecasting system tools to create production plans and maintain desired inventory levels
  • Review material BOM structure for correctness of product hierarchy
  • Gather, analyze, and validate data to support cross-functional reconciliation of variances and refine the forecast model
  • Support the Supply Chain through post-implementation of a new ERP System and MRP process

S&OP and Collaboration:

  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus S&OP approach by working with Sales, Engineering and Production to understand demand forecast drivers and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
  • Provide analytics to support alignment gaps using trends and market data.
  • Closely manage timelines related to pilot/launch schedules and communicate through S&OP discussions
  • Works with the Production Manager to analyze plant capacity data to identify production constraints vs the forecast and improve production efficiencies
  • Provide input to the Purchasing organization in developing inventory strategies on all products throughout the lifecycle process

Reporting:

  • Monitor slow moving inventory and drive improvements to achieve inventory goals and reduce obsolescence
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to key KPI’s for multiple departments and management

Other:

  • Collaborate/communicate with all departments in a timely and professional manner
  • Serve as back up support for the Purchasing team as needed
  • Report on individual performance metrics
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field or equivalent with a combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Experience: 5-10 Years of forecasting and/or demand planning
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems, and recommend/implement response strategies
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Strong oral communication skills and ability to present to a variety of target audiences
  • Ability to work well in a team, rapidly gain an understanding of applications, manage multiple projects with changing priorities and initiate projects with minimal guidance
  • Keen business sense with the ability to find creative business-oriented solutions
  • Proven success working in a fast-paced environment
  • Formal ERP-managed MRP experience required
  • High Excel proficiency required
  • Experience with Acumatica ERP and Salesforce a plus
